145 Alive is an activity event to promote the use of 2m FM simplex.

Regional nets are established across the UK on a chosen day over a period of several hours, and anyone is welcome to call in and get as many contacts as possible. Just get on the air!

145 Alive is currently coordinated via the Facebook group 145 ALIVE ACTIVITY EVENT GROUP.

As of November 2024, the number of people joining the Facebook group exceeded 3300.

However, for the benefit of those who do not use Facebook, but may still be interested in the event, this webpage has been set up.

Magic pixies will update this site with information in the run-up to each event.

08 November 2024 - ML&S offer prize to encourage participation

Our friends at ML&S have kindly offered a Yaesu FT2980 as a PARTICIPATION prize for the next 145 Alive Event. This will be purely RANDOM and is for being active in the event and it's not in any way a competition. People included will be those that appear in the submitted Net Control logbooks and includes the Net Controllers themselves. We will look to include an 'Opt - Out' for those not wishing to be entered. Mark

12 October 2024 - Next 145 Alive event in January 2025

We are pleased to announce that the next 145 Alive Event will be Sunday 26th January 2025 from 1pm to 4pm LOCAL TIME and will be the first of 4 Events in 2025. We realize that January is not an ideal time, the next will be in April, then July, and finally October.

We know that January will of course be a challenge for all concerned and that's why we are announcing early, so that everyone, especially the Net Controllers can start to plan early. It will be necessary to have a Plan A and a Plan B in case weather conditions are against us on the day.

Having said all of that, we want to build on the success and make 2025 a great year for 145 Alive and for that to happen we get good numbers of Net Controllers in order to get great coverage across all of the UK. 'It's all about taking part and having a go'.

It would be great to see more groups of radio operators taking part and Clubs. These events are a great opportunity to get on the radio in a none Contest environment and to improve radio operators skills, whilst promoting 145 FM and generating activity.

We will be putting a call out on this FB page for Net Controllers to run Nets in the next few weeks. At this point - Please DO NOT reply to this posting offering to run a Net. More details about how to do that will follow. This is not a call for Net Controllers just an early announcement about timings for 2025.
